Thinking about chasing lions on a snowy day as in 2 Samuel 23.
Life in the USA is a challenge for me.
Too busy! Seems like there are never enough hours in the day.  When I talk to friends I find that we are both looking at the clock or our cell phones to make sure we don't spend too much time talk- ing.  I had text messaging removed from my phone because I have reached my capacity to communicate although - I don't want to stop hearing the voices of the people I love and care about.  I don't want to lose touch with their lives and what GOD is doing in them.
Taking time to sit quietly before the LORD and study is one of the lions I am chasing on this "snowy" day.  Read 2 Samuel 23 to find out what I am talking about.  On Sunday our guest speaker: Pastor Jeff shared a video sermon with us about "chasing lions!"  It was a great message.  At first I was not happy that I was seeing a video sermon at church.  I could sit at home and do that.  But, I am glad that I adjusted my attitude immediately and tuned in.  I made a new commitment to GOD on Sunday to be a lion chaser.  No more letting the lions chase me!
There I am in that comfortable corner GOD has provided for me in my temporary "home" while in the USA.  It's an oasis that I will go to more than I ever did and spend time with the LORD in study and prayer.  Here's a warning to the lions . . . . beware! For now, Pastor Chris is roaming around looking for roaring lions, chasing them down and there's no telling what I will do when I catch you.  Other lions I'm chasing:  *Building meaningful relationships in the "body", *Praying more faithfully for our church leadership at Shiloh Community Fellowship, and *Be more intentional about sharing Christ with those in my daily path. "In the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight . . . . "  Thanks for your prayers!  Join the chase! I want to hear your lion chasing stories so be sure to share them in the guest book .

Cheap Tickets
(Tuesday - June 22nd).
I can't believe it's that time again.  Actually, I don't normally purchase tickets for the journey to Africa until sometime in August but, I knew I could get a great price if I purchased the tickets now.  If you subtract the huge amount of airport tax and then cut the ticket in half (since I am going on two long journeys via South African Air <USA-South Africa RT> <South Africa - Kenya RT> each flight works out to be about $700 each. That's a lower fare than I paid during my first journey in 2001.  And this is an open ended ticket, since I don't really have a firm return
date for this trip.  I get to make one FREE change and they will allow me to make other changes for only $25. + the difference. Carlo at CBY Travel in Chicago always comes up with amazing deals for international travel so if you are going out of the USA be sure to give CBY Travel a call. 773-478-5397 and ask for Carlo.  Be sure to tell him I sent you.  Thanks Becky Rush for obtaining the ticket for me. PEI is a Partner Ministry of Shiloh Community Fellowship in Quarryville. Becky helps us in so many ways week in and week out.

My new home has me cooking again. This is Spaghetti Pie. One for me and one for my neighbors! When are you coming for dinner? Soon I hope! Bro. Doug and Sis. Sonia from the JESUS PARTY in Lewiston, Maine made their second visit to Lancaster County on their way to Pigeon Forge where they renewed their wedding vows. Congrats you guys! I love you. I lived with them for several years in Maine. This is the home of John & Joyce Wagner who are hosting me in their "missionary house". I took this picture the day before the garden tour. This was one of the many stops on the tour. My dear friends BethAnn & Chris tied the knot a second time in front of many friends at Calvary BFC Church celebrating 25 years together. It was great to be a part of their special day. The beginning of June I drove our to Michigan to pick up one of my "sons" (Randall) who was celebrating his 19th birthday that day and returning to be a counselor at camp in NY. He joined me for a Sr. High Retreat that weekend. This was my second time doing at Sr. High Retreat for Christ Evangelical Free Church at Circle K Camp. It's my favoite camp because it's so unique and has been created with so much love. It was great to be there again. I will be doing the Jr. High Retreat there in AugustWe left the retreat late Saturday night and Randall and I drove to the Bronx early Sunday morning for me to lead worship at Revelation Church. Randall went home from there (assisted by Pastor Bryan Johnson). I then preached and shared about PEI at Beacon Bible Church in the Bronx.
I was blessed with a visit from Daniel Ramos from Maine. He came to spend about 5 days with me here. Daniel is the son of long time friends George & Kris Ramos in Canton, Maine. It was nice having you here Daniel. Sunday Daniel and I attended a graduation party held for Kylee Edwards. Kylee is the daughter of Chris & MaryEllen Edwards - dear friends of mine I 've gotten to know through my time at Shiloh Community Fellowship. June 18th I had a short but awesome visit with my friend Pastor Cliff Vincent who is in Baltimore for his mission conference. I brought him to PA for a short visit and drove him back the same night! Please join me in praying for the family and friends of Chris "Crit" Herr who was killed in a motorcycle accident near my home. I was at the accident shortly after it happened and I had the opportunity on Friday to stop there and pray with some of his friends. June 19th was STEAKFEST. John Wagner and a host of folks put on one of the largest steak cookouts I've ever seen and it was awesome. Lots of food fun and fellowship and of course I was invited and enjoyed it. Here's John (plaid shirt) and some of the guys who made this such an amazing experience. John and Joyce are such a blessing to all who know them. They love the LORD and they share HIS love with everyone. Some dear friends of PEI included me in their Father's Day celebration and I enjoyed some amazing hamburgers, corn on the cob and strawberry pie with them. Thanks you guys! It was great.
There's no way I can tell you all that I have been doing but these pictures all have captions if you click on them and they will fill you in a little. When I am not connecting with supporters of PEI and sharing with them about the upcoming mission, I am working on the plan, praying for you, studying for futures messages I will give and I almost forgot . . . . driving limo to help pay for the mission and ministry.
Since we had to cancel the Open House - I am inviting you to come for a visit any time.  Yes we need to plan in advance so call me today: 717-471-8737.  Can't wait to see you!

SHILOHCARES

A group of selfless people from Shiloh Community Fellowship has left their homes and air conditioners in Quarryville, Pennsylvania to serve the people of Haiti in their darkest hours.  They are there to do whatever needs to be done.  Allowing GOD to love the people of Haiti through them as thousands upon thousands of relief works have been doing since that terrible day of the earthquake. Everyday - several times - I stop to pray for them.  I thank GOD for their willingness to be used by GOD in this way.  Shiloh CARES about the people of Haiti, and many places around the world.  And Shiloh CARES about Quarryville, Pennsylvania and the people all around us in Southern Lancaster County.  I'm proud to be a part of such a great church.
The retreat for Sr. High - Post High youth was a great success.  We are thankful for Pastor Bruce and all he did to make the meals happen for us assisted by various others.  (Special thanks to John).  Thanks also to Lindsey for helping with the girls and helping with other things as needed.  Thanks Deb for coming and helping us out.  Caleb you did a great job!  We were blessed to have such a cooperative group. The theme for the retreat was "GET REAL".  Friday night Pastor Chris lead the first session by giving his testimony and giving an invitation using light sticks with arrows that lead to a circle representing where JESUS was.  A cross in the middle of the symbol reminding us of what JESUS did for us.  Caleb did the sessions on Saturday and lead discussion groups.  We also saw an amazing movie about  Jonathan Sperry.  Powerful movie about the importance of reading the Bible and sharing Christ with others.  Sunday a.m. we had the group go down to the dock before sunrise (4:30 a.m.) and spend time with GOD as the sun came up.  We had a time of sharing as our final session together lead by Pastor Chris.  When the group arrived there was worship music playing softly and the neon light stick arrows leading down the dock to the circle  with the cross in the middle and another opportunity to meet with JESUS in the circle.  Pastor Bruce entering the circle and spoke to JESUS and it was awesome.  We drove back to Manship Chapel where the youth participated in the morning service singing worship songs, a slide show from the retreat was shown and Caleb gave the message.  It was great.

Beautiful!
Awesome!
Rachel said: "My parents dragged me to church. I didn't want to go. Then we went to a special service and I was touched, and gave my life to Christ." Pastor Bruce baptized her in the river after her testimony. After the baptism, Pastor Bruce had a brief message and we had a time of worship. When it all ended we sat there together watching the sun set over the river. It was an awesome sight. Thank you GOD for moments like these! This is the JESUS CIRCLE made with the glow sticks mentioned above. They are a nice tool. I buy them in bulk. If you would like to sponsor some light I get 12 of these sticks for $1.00 your contributions are welcome. SHARE THE LIGHT! Our group spread out around the dock to have a talk with GOD and welcome the new day that HE has given us. It was quite a sight. And imagine that all of them GOD up at 4:00 am to honor their HEAVENLY FATHER! As the sun rose on the river it was such a beautiful sight. An artist can paint a beautiful picture but only GOD can create the source of what the artist paints. The sun rises over the mist of the extremly humid morning. Those are not clouds the sun is peaking out of. They are the tops of the trees hidden by the mist.
Another chapter in the book of cool stuff GOD did!
When I founded PEI in 2000, GOD had made it  clear to me that I was to come to Lancaster County and base the ministry here.  (That is another long story).  I left Maine with no money and no place to live in PA but as so many of you know GOD took care of that.  I left Maine in a Cadillac that GOD provided for me.  It served me well.  <Fast Fwd. to 2010>
A year ago I was blessed with the Cadillac you see here.  Though it was a nice blessing from GOD, for many in churches is created a problem because as you can see it would appear that it is new.  A beautiful car - however, there is some-thing about a "missionary" working with the poor people in Africa while driving a "NEW" Cadillac that upset people and it resulted in some churches choosing not to support our ministry.  Since to some this was an "appearance of evil" I put the car up for sale.  On June 28th (those who know me well, know there is sig-nificance of that date), I sold the car.  Friends in DE know what a struggle I was having about that.  The prospects for a car to replace were not good.  I just could not find anything for the amount I would have to spend.  After I sold the car and watched the folks drive away in it., I prayed a simple prayer and asked GOD to give me a blessing.  I was on my way to the dealer where I was going to buy a car I really didn't want. I stopped at 10 dealers along the way hoping for a better car.  There were none.  When I arrived at the dealer I was thrilled to see a beaut-iful PT Cruiser.  It ended up being the same price as the car I had gone there to purchase.  As I test drove the car, tears ran down my face.  I asked GOD for a PT Cruiser when I founded PEI.  I sensed GOD's reply was: "Not now my son."  On this specific day it became GOD's gift to me!  HALLELUJAH!
The Cadillac?  It is a 2002 with 138,000 miles on it. Far from being new.  But it is very nice looking.  The PT Cruiser - it is a 2002 with
136,480 miles on it.  It also looks nice! THANK YOU GOD!
