Calling on Christians to PRAY

for our President and our leaders!

"1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;  2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."  (1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV)

PRAY!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

   I have a confession to make.  I didn't vote for this president and didn't want him to become the leader of our nation.  On the day that he took office I published a special page welcoming him and made a commitment to pray for him.  I have not been faithful to my commitment, and when I did pray my prayers were not what God could honor or answer. 

   Where the world is headed none of us knows for sure but our Heavenly Father knows and ultimately HE is in control.  The big decisions that our President will make in the coming months can be greatly altered by our prayers for him and the leaders of this country.  Talk is cheap - Prayer is precious!  It's also powerful! 

    What challenges we have before us.  Will things get worse?  I am looking to GOD for HE is my hope.  If there is going to be "change" for the better, it will come through us doing what the Bible teaches us.  Please commit yourself to pray for our President and our leaders.   It's easy to complain or talk about this mistake and that bad decision, but what if we prayed for them everytime we thought to speak against them? 

    I'm not saying we shouldn't engage in healthy discussion and stay informed about what's going on.  Without that - how could we know how and what to pray?

Proverbs 21:1 reminds us: "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will."

2 Chronicles 7:14 says: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

    I am renewing my commitment to pray for the President and our leaders thoughout my day - every day and see what GOD will do.  I invite you to join me.
